The Turntable Strobe Disc is an acrylic disc used to measure turntable rotational speed. It works with alternating current (AC) lighting because the light flashes depending on the power mains frequency (50 or 60Hz), and the pattern of bars on the stroboscope disc appears to be stationary when the turntable speed matches the speed printed on the stroboscope. This disc does not work with direct current (DC) lighting or with sunlight.
The Turntable Strobe Disc allows you to accurately adjust and monitor the speed of your turntable to 33-1/3, 45, and 78rpm. To use it, simply place the disc on your platter, turn on your light, and then adjust your turntable's speed control until the pattern on the disc doesn't move.
In addition to the Turntable Strobe Disc, Hudson Hi-Fi offers a range of other measurement and alignment tools, including the High Contrast Protractor, Mirrored Protractor, VTA Protractor, VTA Bundle, and Double-Sided Protractor. These tools are designed to help you achieve precise setup and calibration of your turntable system.
